Scope & Intent
This position is established for those who have completed at least seven years of on-the-job experience in a related field.
Responsibility & Authority
Responsibilities are broader than Engineer II, and will extend to oversight and coaching of other associates, management of one's own time, and prioritization of multiple tasks.
Skills & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering and a minimum of seven years related experience, preferably in an Automotive Electronics Engineering environment.
Circuit design skills are expected with the ability to model and simulate these circuits, perform worst-case analysis, and understand the components used and their models.
Knowledge of programming microcontrollers, in order to appreciate software requirements from the hardware design viewpoint.
The ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
The ability to operate electronic test equipment, diagnose circuit problems, and analyze test data is necessary.
Although many companies use different systems, experience in Documentation Control and Business Systems (Engineering Release, Change Notice, Cost Estimation, Manufacturing Process, etc.) is vital.
The ability to lead structured problem-solving activities. This involves Identifying problems, determining root cause, implementation of irreversible corrective actions, and verification of these actions (a.k.a. 5P, 7D, and 8D reports).
Expertise in as many of the following Automotive Development Processes: D.V.P.&R., Fault Tree, F.M.E.A., Thermal Analysis, A.P.Q.P., QS9000, and Six-Sigma.
Good English skills at speaking, reading and writing.
